Oda H. Ekre and Karsten Kreiling are being promoted from Managing Associates in Wiersholm and will become partners from 1 January 2024.

Oda and Karsten both stand out as excellent lawyers and they have been central assets for Wiersholm in their respective fields of expertise over several years. In addition, they are extremely inspirational colleagues who are also highly esteemed by our clients. We are very happy to welcome them as partners in the firm, says Managing Partner Morten Goller.

– Among Norway’s most competent procurement teams
Oda Hellenes Ekre holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Oslo, 2013. She completed parts of her degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Oda came to Wiersholm as an Associate in 2014 after having worked as an Associate in Wikborg Rein. She was promoted to Senior Associate in Wiersholm in 2017 and to Managing Associate in 2020. Oda primarily works with public procurement, contract law and dispute resolution as well as compliance and investigations. She is on the Top 10-list within public procurement in the Annual Lawyer Survey and is ranked as a Rising Star by Legal 500.

I am very proud and happy to be made a partner at Wiersholm, a law firm that in a unique way combines top-notch professional skills and a thriving, cohesive working environment. This is a synergy I really appreciate, and I look forward to participating both professionally and socially in my new role. I also look eagerly forward to play a role, along with my talented colleagues, in the development of one of Norway’s most competent procurement teams in the years to come, says Ekre.

– Great ambitions for further growth
Karsten Kreiling has studied law and economics at Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. He has a law degree from 2010 and in 2015 he obtained his final degree as well as a licence to practice as a lawyer in Germany. In addition, he has an LL.M. in International Commercial and Business Law from King’s College London from 2012. Karsten began his career as a lawyer at the firm Gleiss Lutz in Germany in 2015. He came to Wiersholm as a Senior Associate in 2017 before being promoted to Managing Associate in 2020. Karsten specialises in M&A transactions and corporate law. He regularly assists acquisition funds and industrial players in connection with acquisitions and mergers across a variety of sectors, often with a cross-border or international dimension. He has been voted one of the country’s most promising talents as an international lawyer in the Annual Lawyer Survey.

I am proud and very grateful that Wiersholm has given me its trust, and I look very much forward to this new chapter. In my opinion, the fact that I, with my background, have been granted this opportunity says a great deal about what Wiersholm stands for, its identity and values: a willingness to think differently, allowing everyone their chance, wishing for everyone to succeed – no matter where they come from, says Kreiling.

Wiersholm has some of the most highly qualified M&A lawyers, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to continue to work alongside them to assist clients with cases that are as complex as they are important. Wiersholm’s corporate department has great ambitions for further growth, and it is a pleasure to contribute to that goal with my particular expertise on cross-border and international transactions, says Kreiling.
