Mr Goller takes over the leadership after Nils H. Thommessen.

Morten Goller is an expert on dispute resolution, and his main areas of focus are procurement law and tax law. He is ranked as Norway’s leading expert on procurement law and as a leading lawyer within civil procedure in Norwegian financial daily Finansavisen’s annual lawyer survey. Moreover, he is ranked one of Norway’s leading lawyers within procurement law, competition law, litigation and dispute resolution by Chambers Europe, Chambers Global and Legal 500. Several years in a row, he has in Finansavisen’s annual lawyer survey also been ranked as the most sought-after lawyer in the business by our competitors.

“Morten is one of Norway’s most skilled and highly regarded lawyers. He is commercial and analytical in his approach, enjoys tremendous respect professionally and is the natural choice for the new holder of the position as managing partner of Wiersholm. We look forward to having him as our managing partner as well as a practicing lawyer in the years ahead and are confident that he will lead the company in the right direction”, says Chairman of the Board of Wiersholm, Mr Stephan L. Jervell.

In taking over as managing partner, he will balance his roles as head of Wiersholm and as a lawyer.

I am very much looking forward to taking up my duties as the head of Wiersholm, but at the same time, it goes against the grain for me to let go altogether of client-related work. I am a lawyer first and foremost. Thankfully, Wiersholm did under Nils’s leadership set up a very competent and highly operational administration, which takes a great share of the day-to-day running of the firm. There are also a number of other partners who will do their part by taking charge of key areas, such as Kai Thøgersen within recruitment/HR, Rune Opdahl within professional development / competence building and our new partner, Christel Søreide, in terms of corporate social responsibility. And so I see myself being able to divide my time fairly evenly between my practice as a lawyer and the management of the firm”, the new head of Wiersholm says.

Morten Goller joined Wiersholm from Wikborg Rein in 2014 and has for the last few years headed the team dedicated to the development of the firm’s legal expertise, and has also headed Wiersholm’s market group for energy and shipping. Mr Goller has previously worked for the Office of the Attorney General and has been a member of the Norwegian Complaints Board for Public Procurement. He is admitted to the Supreme Court and regularly conducts cases before this court. Mr Goller also has extensive experience from international arbitration and from the EFTA court.
