This new addition to our partner team will consolidate and reinforce our already strong position within shipping.

Karl Even Rygh arrives to Wiersholm from the position as managing director of Nordisk (Nordisk Defence Club). He holds a cand. jur. degree from the University of Oslo from 2000 as well as a master’s degree in maritime law from London. Mr Rygh’s commitment to the shipping and offshore industry spans more than 15 years, and main areas of his specialisation include new construction projects, the purchase and sale of vessels and bareboat transactions. Following his 7 years in Thommessen, he joined Nordisk in 2007, where he became deputy managing director in 2014 and has been managing director since 2015.

Shipping and offshore are among Norway’s most important and most outward-looking industries. Wiersholm has a long-standing tradition of providing legal advice within all areas of maritime law. The addition of Karl Even Rygh will boost our already strong team, and we are very proud that he has chosen to join Wiersholm. As the managing director of Nordisk Defence Club, Mr Rygh has been as close to the market as you can get.
