A new year and three new partners in Wiersholm

On 1 January 2016, Sondre Dyrland, Thomas Naalsund and Håkon Cosma Størdal entered Wiersholm's partnership. With their contribution, important areas of expertise and focus are further strengthened.

Dyrland was previously a partner in the Norwegian law firm Kluge. His specialities are petroleum law and contract law, and he has solid and extensive experience with providing advice to Norwegian and foreign clients in the oil and gas industry. Dyrland holds a doctorate from the University of Oslo's faculty of law and is the author of several text books in law and articles regarding the gas market.

Naalsund was previously a partner in the Norwegian law firm Kluge too. He has substantial experience with providing advisory services and engaging in dispute resolution for Norwegian and international clients, including clients in the energy sector (oil and gas). Naalsund is admitted to the Norwegian Supreme Court and has experience with extensive matters before Norwegian and international arbitration tribunals, the European Court of Human Rights and the EFTA Court.

Størdal joined Wiersholm in 2013, when he came from the position as legal director of the Norwegian Competition Authority. He has since been head of our team in a number of major and high-profile competition cases. With his addition to our partnership, even more weight is added to our transaction assistance in a competition law perspective.

The "highly skilled" Sondre Dyrland is well known for infrastructure and transportation-related matters, and is also experienced in oil and gas disputes.”

Thomas Naalsund is a "well-respected" litigator, specialising in EU law, state aid and competition matters. Clients say he is "very effective in making arguments before the courts."
